Every new campaign is built paused, and turning it on is a separate card. Daily budgets on cards are capped from the monthly ad budget you gave Cosmo. Every ad card names the exact ad account (and Facebook Page) it will touch, and Cosmo refuses accounts your own sign-in didn't return.
Cosmo's ad actions run on your own Google Ads and Meta ad accounts. Ad spend is billed by Google and Meta directly to you, and Cosmo never marks it up.
1. Campaigns start paused
When you approve a new campaign, Cosmo builds it in your ad account (campaign, ad group or ad set, keywords and ads) with everything paused. The card says "Created paused. Nothing spends until you activate it."
Turning it on is a separate Activate card. It's marked high risk and shows the real campaign name and daily budget as they are in your account: "It starts spending up to $X/day immediately." Pausing is its own card too ("Spend stops; nothing is deleted").
2. A daily budget cap
A card can't set a daily budget above your workspace's cap. The cap is the lower of:
- Cosmo's overall ceiling of $200 a day per campaign, and
- the top of the monthly ad budget you gave in onboarding, divided by 30.
| Monthly ad budget you picked | Highest daily budget on a card |
|---|---|
| None yet, organic only | $20 |
| Under $1,000 | $33 |
| $1,000-3,000 | $100 |
| $3,000-10,000 | $200 |
| $10,000+ | $200 |
If Cosmo wants more, he has to propose the cap or less, or ask you to raise your budget. An Activate card for a campaign whose budget is already above the cap (for example one you set yourself) shows a note saying so.
3. The exact account on every card
Each ad and budget card shows the account it will change, for example "Meta ad account: Acme (act_123) · Page: Acme". Cosmo only acts on accounts that your own sign-in returned. If a request names any other account, it's refused before it reaches you. This matters if your login also reaches clients' accounts, as agency or manager logins often do.
