What Cosmo does

Launch directories and Product Hunt

Updated

The short answer

Cosmo picks the directories that fit you from a list of about 70 (Product Hunt, Show HN, BetaList, Uneed, SaaSHub, AlternativeTo and more) and writes the copy. Most need a login, a CAPTCHA or a manual review, so you submit each one in about 2 minutes from a ready-made task, and Cosmo tracks where each one stands.

See your launch on Launch.

Directory submissions

  1. Cosmo recommends the best-fit directories, 10 by default and up to 30, as one card.
  2. When you approve it, each directory becomes a one-tap task with the copy ready and a link to the submit page. A few directories take submissions by email, and for those Cosmo drafts the email.
  3. You submit and mark it done. Each status is planned, submitted, needs you or live.

The card says it plainly: "Cosmo won't create accounts or solve captchas; you submit, Cosmo tracks."

Launch kit

Cosmo writes a tagline (up to 60 characters), a short description (up to 160), a long description, categories, a maker comment, a Product Hunt first comment, and a Show HN title and text.

Launch day plan

Cosmo plans Product Hunt for a Tuesday at least 10 days out, and Show HN two days later, with a checklist for the day.

Questions

Why doesn't Cosmo submit to directories automatically?

Nearly every directory needs a login, a CAPTCHA or a manual review. Cosmo's browser never signs in or solves CAPTCHAs, so you do the final step, which takes about 2 minutes.

Can directory listings be auto-approved?

The recommendation card can be, if you turned on auto-approve and approved 3 listing cards before. Submitting is still your tap.
