Approvals

Which channels can approve cards (and why an email reply can't)

Updated

The short answer

You can approve by replying on WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage and in the web app, because those platforms prove who sent the message. On email, use the signed Approve and Skip links under each card, then confirm; replying "yes" never approves. Phone calls (coming soon) will never approve.

ChannelApprove by replyButtonsWhy
Web appYesYesYou're signed in
WhatsAppYesYesWhatsApp gives Cosmo your verified number
TelegramYesYesTelegram gives Cosmo your linked chat
iMessageYesNoApple delivers your real sender number. Messages that fall back to SMS are chat only
EmailNoApprove and Skip links with a confirm step, valid 14 daysA "From" address can be faked
Phone (coming soon)NoNoneCaller ID can be faked

Email

Each card in an email brief has its own Approve and Skip links. They're signed links tied to that card and that decision, they open a confirm step before anything happens, and they expire after 14 days. If you reply "yes" to the email, Cosmo reads it as chat and never approves anything.

Phone

Phone calls are coming soon. They'll need a PIN, and a call can never approve a card, because caller ID can be faked. Until then, send Cosmo a voice note on WhatsApp or Telegram, and approve in chat or the app.

Questions

I replied "yes" to Cosmo's email and nothing happened. Why?

Email replies can't approve, because a sender address can be faked. Use the Approve link under the card in the email and confirm, or approve in the app.

Do Telegram and WhatsApp buttons expire?

They only work for the card they're on and only from your own workspace. If the card is no longer waiting, the button replies "Already done" or "Already skipped".
